Alexander's Bible Centered Preschool

Mission Statement

The preschool center will seek to provide opportunities for the children who participate in the ministry to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally and socially by providing developmentally appropriate activities, guidance, ministry, and outreach to them and to their families.
Early childhood is the most critical period in human growth and development. This is when the foundation for learning begins. Keeping this in mind, our program understands that each child is an individual, developing at his or her own rate. We strive to promote emotional, physical, cognitive and social skills through play and learning activities, while assuring the children of Gods love for them personally.

Admission Guidelines

ABC Preschool admissions are based upon the established practices and in accordance with recommendations by the Virginia Department of Education.

 All children must be three years of age by September 30th of the school year to register in the preschool program.

 

No advancement or promotion will occur upon age change during the school year.

 

All children must be toilet trained prior to admission into the program.

 

Due to limitations of class size and staffing ratios, there may not be an immediate space for your child in the desired program.
 
Admissions are allowed on a first come, first served basis. However, a waiting list of those families who desire admission will be maintained by the administrator, and these will be   contacted as space becomes available

 

                         Registration Guidelines
 
A completed registration form and payment of a non-refundable registration fee completes the registration process.  A copy of the child’s birth certificate and an immunization record must be submitted before the first day of school.  Additionally, documentation of physical examination (performed within the year) is required.    THIS IS A VIRGINIA STATE BOARD OF HEALTH REQUIREMENT AND CANNOT BE WAIVED.
 
 
Programs Offered

Classes are age segregated and geared toward the curriculum appropriate for the age group.

 

During the 2010-2011 school year, we will offer classes for three and four year olds.

 

Three year old classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday each week.

Four year old classes meet, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday each week.

 

Classes begin on Wednesday, September 8.  During the school year, we will follow the Chesapeake Public School calendar.  The last day of school will be on Thursday, May 26, 2011.

 

Classes are held daily from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.
 
 
Curriculum
 
The curriculum is based upon the "WEE Learn" program published by Life Way Convention Press.
We have taken this guide and built a curriculum that best fits our mission statement.  A calendar and monthly newsletter will be sent home each month to help you know what will be happening in your child's classroom.
